Definition

Arthroscopy is a surgical technique whereby an optical instrument connected to a camera is introduced into a joint to explore it visually (knee, shoulder, hip, wrist etc.). The joint is gonflée with a sterile liquid. The procedure takes place in this liquid environment, which reduces tissue aggression ( ligaments, cartilage etc). The procedure is monitored.

Using this minimally invasive technique, for example on the knee, we can :

  • Remove or suture part of the meniscus.
  • Remove part of the cartilage or make a greffe of the necrotic areas.
  • Reconstruct the medial knee ligaments.
